Shipping, freight breaks and case quantities
Plastic cabinets are light and they nest, which is the whole reason a distributor order moves by parcel instead of by pallet. Here is how that works and what it costs.

Ship weights are from the Cato submittals. Case packs are from the Activar 8C distributor price sheet; the submittals do not publish a carton quantity.
Where it ships from
Cato cabinets are made by Activar Construction Products Group in the USA and ship from Activar's US warehouses. The shipping and returns policy that applies to your order is shown at checkout, before you pay.
Freight quotes for large distributor or contractor orders are worth asking for directly — the freight break is calculated on the Cato product total, so combining cabinets, covers and parts into one order is usually cheaper than splitting it.

Where do Cato cabinets ship from?
Stocked Cato models ship from Activar Construction Products Group warehouses across the US. Your order confirmation carries the tracking number once it leaves.
How do the Cato freight breaks work?
Cato pays half the freight on a product total of $1,500 or more and full freight at $3,000 or more, calculated across the whole Cato order. Semi-recessed cabinets are excluded from freight discounts.
Why order by the case?
Freight. Nested cabinets ship in one carton instead of several — a case of ten 10 lb Chiefs weighs about 45 lb, which is still parcel freight rather than a pallet. Every Chief model page has an add-a-case button.
How long does a stocked model take?
Stocked models generally leave the same or next business day. The Chief Pull to Open (-Z) series is on production hold at Activar, so those are quoted with a lead time rather than sold from stock.
